Mt. Neva

I got to do another front range scramble in the Indian Peaks Wilderness with some incredible views. I love the mountains! This one was totally different from the one two weeks ago. It really had no route finding difficulties and the rock was bomber all around. Made for some really fun scrambling. And finally there was no snow to contend with!

Since there were some storm predicted, Jon (http://www.instagram.com/alloftheexperiences) and I started from the Fourth of July trailhead a little after 5 am. We then got on the Arapahoe Pass trail. Right before reaching the pass summit we veered left and headed for Mt. Neva’s ridge. Now the fun begins!

There is a trail going to the ridge and the ridge itself is about 0.7 mi long. Mostly class 2 and 3 but there were a couple of class 4 sections that were easily navigable. You could find some low class 5 to climb, if you wanted. For the most part there was a trail to follow. That route definitely gets climbed.

We reached the summit in about 3.5 hours. I was pumped to find a recliner rock to lounge on and take in the views. After about half an hour, we headed back down the ridge. The ridge was so good we had to do a repeat😝. It took us about 3 hours to get down. We made it back to the car just before the rain started. Such a fun day with one of my favorite hiking partners. Can’t wait for the next adventure.
